We need a clarification on the rule regarding your own "hang out" square. The question is, if you can stash your stuff there, do you have to take it with you on your next roll. Or can you leave it behind and pick it up later.

You must take your stash with you when you depart your hangout square. While your suggested strategy may seem like a good idea, in the game of Trafficking, you advance on the "scores" card by selling,. And you can't sell it, if you don't have it.
